Gareth Bryant’s Thanksgiving Spoiler-Alert:

Standard

While all of you are bustin’ down a big ol’ bird, called a Turkey, to the white-meat…just remember some pretty important things:

1. Gratitude/Giving Thanks for what Allah the Creator/Lord of the Universe, has granted each & every one of us on Earth, shouldn’t/mustn’t be limited to only the commercialized-celebration of 1-holiday, only 1-day out of the entire year-Thanksgiving is a concept that is supposed to be respected/observed 24/7 all-year round.

2. Since you’re gonna celebrate this holiday regardless to whatever I say, at least offer some of your many dishes to those whom are in peril, whom cannot afford to feed themselves and/or are out in the streets during these times of the year, right here in our local residencies, of our native cities, nations, etc.

3. Being grateful for what one has also entails being grateful for what hasn’t befallen you: there are countless millions of members of our Humanity, who will probably never experience the luxury of sitting at anyone’s dinner-table, enjoying monstrous amounts of food, which we selfishly stuff our faces with, while throwing the rest away, not realizing, nor even caring, that that food which we waste could’ve been used to relieve at least some of our fellow Humans from Hunger, at least for 1-day.

Thanksgiving is all the time, every day!!!

I’m thankful all of the time, not just for Thanksgiving:

I’m thankful for Allah turning my heart away from the love & pursuit of the streets.
I’m thankful for Him grant me the opportunity to find Islam as well as finding true peace.

I’m amazed that every year people claim to be thankful; yet, are only appreciative when things are going easy.
Whenever tested with trials & tribulations, people often forget that Allah’s in control, then, to Him they act sleazy.

They ignore, and forget, that throughout the year, Allah provides for them too.
It’s so much easier to neglect the regular, day-to-day bounties, given to you.

We always thank Allah for what we have, but not for what he’s kept from us.
Whenever we’re denied something, we get angry and uptight, ready to fus.

Complaining is a hallmark of a Human being.
We’ve been like this from the very beginning.

But, the next time that you wanna complain, turn on the T.V. & watch the news.
Read the paper about people world-wide, who have nothing, no food, nor shoes.

Season’s Warnings!!!

Standard

Author’s note:

This is my advice for all of you out there who’ve been waiting all-year for this holiday shopping season to befall us. Well, it’s here; but, I’m here just to give you some insight, to make sure that you don’t become just another victim of the industries which feed off of our pockets.

Brand-Names!!!For some strange reason, we all love to don designer labels, to bear another man’s name.
It could be Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, or Louis Vuitton, wanting to be owned is the same.

We are all victims of our own self-enslavement, to these big-time corporations.
We give them our money without question; we represent consumer generations.

It’s sad how we need allow the names on our clothes to determine our self-worth.

We are only valued as a sale, a fashion serf, tied to the the label of a greedy designer baron.
We place so much importance on brands that do nothing for our communities or children.

These brands project lifestyles that most of their consumers would never be able to afford.
But, the image of wealth & status in our society is appealing; we just want to be on board.

It’s sad how we need allow the names on our clothes to determine our self-worth.

These fashion pariahs only want our money; they need us to stay at a lowly societal rank.
We waste our money on brand names, while these people laugh all the way to the bank.

Their only concern is what they can get out of our pockets; it’s the reality we must know.
Buying these name brands are one of the reasons our communities don’t prosper & grow.

It’s sad how we need allow the names on our clothes to determine our self-worth.

It is high time to take ownership of one’s own self back!!!
Don’t allow these brand names to own you, that’s wack!!!

We must love & dignify ourselves enough not to enslave ourselves to brand names!!!
If this cycle doesn’t end soon, we’ll continue to be senseless, fashion-crazed lames!!!
