al-Imma`tiyyah/Groupie-Culture

Standard

(Literally) I was this Years old, when I found-out that it’s Mahrūm/Islāmically-Prohibited to be a Lackey, a Groupie, a Dick-Rider, etc. Muhammad (Peace be upon him) stated, Word4Word, “Don’t be an Imma`ah (Lackey, Groupie, Dick-Rider, etc.).”.(at-Tirmidhī) This Hadīth/Narration is listed/cited as Hadīth# 2007 via the Musnad (Hadīth/Narration-Collection) of at-Tirmidhī. The Irony, as per my Personal Life-Experience, is that I abandoned my Allegiance to a Hizb/Religio-Sectarian Group in “2007”, C.E./1428, AH.

My Personal-Experience being an Adherent to a Hizb taught me that any/all Ahzāb/Religio-Sectarian Groups are Inherently-Similar in that:

a. All-Ahzāb lay Unwarranted/Unjustified-Claims to Religio-Monopolies/Superiority, predicated upon Islāmic-Concepts which ironically existed prior to the Revelation of The Qur’ān.

b. All-Ahzāb, in order to sustain their Survival, must rely upon (almost exclusively) al-Imma`tiyyah (Lackey/Dick-Rider Culture).

“My Imām/Leader”…”My Shaykh/Teacher”…”My Tarīqah/Path”…”My Minhāj/Methodology”…”My Madhab/Religio-Legal School”…”My `Aqīdah/Religio-Theological School”…”My Political-Party”…”My Gang”…”My Hood”…”My Clique”…”My Country”…”My City”…”My Tribe”…etc.: any/all of this literally spawns&incubates, facilitates, etc. al-Imma`tiyyah.

Why bring this up…#Anwer: the Entire-World, via the Entirety of Human-History almost, has been immersed in al-Immatiyyah, particularly/especially relative to the Revelation of The Qur’ān. There’s even Ahādīth/Narrations like those found via Abī-Dāwud, which Muhammad had stated, “Whomever imitates any People are of them.”. This Issue of al-Immatiyyah directly is addressed via that Aforementioned-Hadīth/Narration. We, as Muslims, must pay Close-Attention to the Clear&Present-Dangers of al-Imma`tiyyah, or else we will be destroyed by it, just like the Umam/Nations before us were destroyed because of it.

The Anatomy of Abuse/Oppression

Standard

Author’s-Note:

This Article is deemed to expose the Reality of the Non-Islāmic Nature of Abuse, via any & all Manifestations/Forms. The Focus of this Article, however, is actually Domestic-Abuse & how/why Muslims particularly, whom still either pretend that it doesn’t exists amongst us, or whom still attempt to justify it.

1. What is Abuse?

Abuse-

A Corrupt-Practice/Custom; Improper/Excessive-Treatment; Language that condemns or vilifies (usually/almost always unjustly), intemperately and angrily; Physical-Maltreatment; a Deceitful-Act.(Merriam-Webster)

Abuse is akin to the Word azh-Zhulm/Oppression.

2. What is Oppression?

Oppression-

Unjust/Cruel-Exercise of Authority/Power; a Sense of being weighed-down in: Spirit, Mind/Heart, Body, etc.(Merriam-Webster)

azh-Zhulm-

Darkness, Ignorance, Arrogance: violating the Boundaries/Rights which Allah has set forth to be respected/observed.(Noble-Qur’ān: Chpt.18, V.1-6/V.32-42; an-Nawawī; Lisān-ul-`Arab: Lexicon of the Arabic-Language)

3. Who’s an Abuser/Abused?

An Abuser can be anyone, with the Capability/Potential to commit Abuse. An Abused-Person can be anyone, who doesn’t possess the Capacity/Potential, Willingness, etc. to resist Abuse.

20191107_112848

4. How/why does Abuse begin?

There’s no Direct/Explicit-Answer: what’s True/Honest is that Abuse, almost always, never has 1-Cause only but Several/Many-Causes.

5. What are the Types of Abuse?

Holistically, any/all Manifestations of Abuse fall under the Following-Categories*:

a. Spiritual-Abuse

b. Psycho-Emotional Abuse

c. Primal-Abuse

(*The Violation of Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs…See: Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs)

20191107_112828

  1. Revelatory-Texts which’re misunderstood/misinterpreted, manipulated, etc. to attempt to justify Abuse (Noble-Qur’ān: Chpt.4, V.34):

20191107_112810

  1. Revelatory-Texts which affirm/confirm the Islāmic-Prohibition of Abuse:

20191107_112746

20191107_112704-1

20191107_112633-2

Now, in spite of the Fact that these Texts clearly indicate the Prohibitory-Nature of Abuse, it still occurs amongst us. The Question is how/why.

There’s Several-Reasons as per how/why this is the Case:

a. Denial of the Reality that one is an Abuser.

b. Refusal to recognize/accept that Abuse affects the Abuse just as much as the Abused.

c. Deflection of the Pain endured by the Abuse via Abuse.

c. Blame of Abuse upon the Abused, instead of upon the Abuser.

Moment of Abuse-Truth:

1. When’s the Last-Time you were confronted with someone whom you know facing Domestic-Abuse?

2. When’s the Last-Time, if ever, that Domestic-Abuse affected you personally?

3. When’s the Last-Time that you actually helped any Person dealing with Domestic-Abuse?

4. When’s the Last-Time that you gave someone a Pass for committing Domestic-Abuse, because you’re Friends with that Person or were too afraid to confront them about it?

5. When’s the Last-Time which you’ve actually, honestly, even care about the Issue of Domestic-Abuse?

The Psychology Of Islāmophobia

Standard

img_20190709_123113_022

Ever since the Time of Noah (Peace be upon him), being commanded by Allah to confront the 1st Non-Muslims in Human-History: Humanity has always been corrupted via Islāmophobia.(at-Tabarī, as-Suyūtī, ibn-Kathīr) However, as per the Modern-World: more than at any Time-Period within Human-History, we’re 💯% enthralled Knee-Deep in the Indulgence of Islāmophobia (Hatred towards/against anything/everything related to the Dīn/Lifestyle of al-Islām). And, because of this, Muslims have been globally pinned against the Wall. Pathological-Fears, which are either Self-Imposed or Socio-Politically Imposed, have tantamount Negative-Effects pertaining to what Muslims think/how we feel about ourselves & Others. Islāmophobia has established Intrapersonal&Interpersonal Inferiority-Complexes within the Minds&Hearts of Muslims worldwide.

Why I’m Against War: A Military-Veteran Speaks

Standard

20170911_052926

Author’s-Note:

Mike Colon, whom I met online, has welcomed me as a Brother. With us united by our Islāmic-Faith, we’ve gotten the chance to learn more about each other. I’ve had the great opportunity to have him educate me as per his Military-Experience as a Muslim, which he’s also graciously allowed me to interview him based on it.

GB: How long have you been a Muslim: are you a Muslim-Revert, or Born-Muslim?

MC: I am a Muslim-Revert; I became a Muslim when I was 17 back in February of 2000 in El Paso, Texas.

GB: How long have you served in the Military, which National-Military, which Armed-Forces Branch?

MC: I was in the Military from September 2001 to September 2006. I was in the United States Marine Corps.

GB: Have you ever seen Live/Active Combat, and if so, how has that made an impact on your practice of Islām?

MC: I was involved in Combat Operations during the 2003 Invasion of Iraq. My Unit earned a Combat Action Ribbon. It has impacted my practice of Islam in the past. After being in combat, I came home and began to rely upon Islam as a way of dealing with my PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Some days were better than others. Some days I didn’t want to get out of bed, other days I isolated myself in the Mosque.

GB: How has Military-Life shaped your Worldview of Peoples whom are Native to the Places where Military-Conflicts take place?

MC: I think that Military life has made me sympathetic to indigenous people’s rebellions and their insurgencies. I saw death and destruction first hand, up close and personal. I saw what we did and I understand why people wanted to attack us.

GB: What has been the Pros & Cons of the Military-Experience?

MC: Pros and Cons of Military life are many. Let me start with the cons: I suffer from anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. I see the world through jaded lenses. I have a very pessimistic outlook. What I witnessed and have done weighs on my soul deeply. As for the pros, well I think being pushed past my mental and physical limits was a good thing. Other than that I didn’t learn much that would be of any use in a civilian environment.

GB: When did you make the Decision to become Active in the Veterans against War Movement?

MC: It was in 2013 that I decided to join Iraq Veterans against the War. It was after having a discussion with Sheikh Abdullah Bin Hamid Ali that really made me realize that I needed to get involved in an active way against American Imperialism.

GB: How has War generally influenced your Perception of Life & Death, or has it at all?

MC: War has influenced my perception of life and death in a big way. I feel like death can seize us at any moment. Death is real and always near!

GB: Are there any regrets. Is which have, in terms of being in the Military?

MC: I think that I have many regrets, but at the same time I owe my intestinal fortitude, ability to run toward a threat to my training and experience in the Marines.

GB: As both a Muslim & a Minority, who’s literally placed their life on the line via Military-Service for the United States: what’s your Views regarding the Anti-Muslim, Anti-Immigrant Policies being promoted by the Trump-Administration?

MC: My views on the anti Muslims and anti immigration policies are that they all come from the same satanic source of white supremacy. This is why white passing Latinos (Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio for example) can support the policies being pushed by the Trump administration and those of us with brown/indigenous features will hit up the front lines against white supremacy.

GB: How are you able to cope with knowing that you’re the Member of 2-Demographics within the United States which are constantly targeted by Bias & Bigotry?

MC: As for dealing with being part of of two demographics of folks that are being assaulted in Trump’s America-The way I deal with it is through Islam: prayer and good deeds, being a good person based upon what Islam teaches helps my mind & soul attain ease. Also, training myself by: lifting weights, martial arts, boxing, etc. & just keeping the body strong just in case I have to get down. Keeping the company of good people and making alliances with folks that care about the struggle.

GB: What would ultimately be your Advice for any Muslim who’s either currently serving in the US-Military or has aspirations of joining the Ranks of the US-Military?

MC: For Muslims who are currently serving, I say get out! Do whatever it takes to get out of the military.  For those that want to join, I say don’t do it.

GB: Speak more in detail, regarding the Iraq Veterans Against The War: its purpose & objectives, goals, etc. Also, tell me about the Advocacy for bringing Deported-Veterans back to the United States.

MC: For more information regarding the IVAW (Iraq Veterans Against The War) go to: http://www.ivaw.org/mission-values-and-vision

As for the advocacy regarding veterans who have been deported, we are in solidarity with them. Many of those veterans are members of veterans for peace. Our organization IVAW arose from VFP (Veterans For Peace). Many of our members are both VFP and IVAW members. Many of us work with the campaign to bring the deported veterans back to the United States.

GB: What can People like me, as well as others who will read this & get a glimpse of your Story: how can we help People like you in your Struggles coming from a Military-Life & reverting to a Civilian-Life once again?

MC: I think the best thing is Community-Support. Having a community to transition to-Being in the military and being in prison are similar. Veterans are able to transition into prison life with ease. You go from one governmental institution to another. I’m speaking from experience. So having a muslim community to come back to is amazing. I was basically homeless when I came out of the Marines. It was living in a broken down RV in a ‘friends’ backyard. It was a Muslim brother (Afro-American) that took me into his home…fed me and took care of me, even when I was sick, like I was just like a member of his family: a recovering Alcoholic who credits Islam to saving his life.

GB: Well…you’ve most definitely given an insightful Interview, regarding this Chapter of your Life-Journey. My hope for you is that Allah constantly/consistently bring you closer to a space & place of Inner-Peace.

Gareth Bryant’s Poetic-Commentary on the film, “12 Years A Slave”:

Standard

Solomon Northup pic

Author’s Note:
“12 Years A Slave” is a movie, an internationally celebrated film, chronicling the life & times of a Solomon Northup, from 1841-1853, an African American, free, and not just free, but, born-free, a native of Saratoga, New York. An outspoken, well-spoken, intelligent, family-man, whom is also, well-traveled, well-experienced, well-skilled, in the musical & vocational-arts of the time in which he lived. Yet sadly, he was captured & subsequently sold into Slavery in the Antebellum American-South: his life turned for the worst, in ways that prior to him deceived & captured, thus thrown unjustly into the world of bondage, as well as forced-servitude, would’ve/could’ve never imagined, before that had occurred-This is his story, in my poetic-words.

Hope that Remains in the Heart:

Although a freeman from birth, he was coerced, forced, tricked by two menacing Slave-Hunters from the South.
They pretended to be his friend: lured him to the Nation’s Capitol and tainted the wine that went into his mouth.

These persons offered him an opportunity to earn extra-money for his family.
Little did he know that he was being set-up to endure a decade-long tragedy.

Drunk and helpless, he was bounded and sold to Men looking for someone else, he just fit the “description”.
Any Black in those days would’ve “fit the description” & all you needed to be guilty was a tanned-complexion.

But, as hard as those who held him hostage abused him, they couldn’t make him a Slave in his mind and heart.
He did not know what would become of him next. But, yet, he had held on to fact that he was free from the start.

His first trials of being a Slave were being held, against his will, within the same exact city which was the center of false-liberty.
These United States, who fought Great Britain decades yore, for freedom, had denied its own natives of the taste of Humanity.

He himself was beaten & whipped, in order to tear away his dignity, just as the lash had teared his tender flesh.
He, along with his ethnic brethren, had been subjugated to toil day and night, appeasing their masters, no rest.

Men were separated from their wives, and daughters, forced to know the heinous violations, set-out by their captor’s lusts.
These Women were the play-things of Slave-Owners, to be used, manipulated sexually, they couldn’t dare make any fuss.

These unspeakable rapes of the body, mind, and spirit, caused many to prefer death over life, better to succum to demise than strife.
However, this Man, born a Human, lowered to a boy, an animal, learned to become a Man, once again, through ambition, endurance.

Yet, throughout all of which was imposed upon him, he was never bitter or lost any Hope.
Constant thoughts and yearning of being reunited with his family always helped him cope.

He was betrayed by those whom he trusted, yet still learned to confide & be confident in the goodwill of his fellow Man.
Little did he know that all of what he had suffered would yield him light at the end of the tunnel, all part of Allah’s plan.

Divine-Providence triumphed, regardless of lack of consequence on part of Slaveowners, Taskmasters, who dehumanized.
After 12-years of wrongful captivity, he was founded, by the help of a Man of conscience & his freedom was finally realized.

He authored his incredible experiences, becoming internationally renown, helping to spark, catalyze the movement called Abolition.
Being an inspiration, to all those who were freed & bondaged, that Hope is not lost, that there are in fact ways to achieve liberation.

His life is now a celebrated open-book…
…Learn about him take a peek, a look.

He has been able to relate his story, which has been lived by so many others…
…Through him, we have a clear glimpse of the suffering of our Human brothers.

How he died and where he’s buried isn’t now known, but that’s okay…
…His resolve, courage, legacy, must be shared with the World today.

Muslims Giving Back @the annual Out of the Darkness Overnight Suicide Walk…Part II:

Video

Allah says, in the Qur’an, “As a result of this, We have ordained upon the Children of Israel the following: ‘Whomever kills someone, whom has neither killed anyone, nor has cause Corruption, within the Earth, it’s just as though they’ve killed all of Humanity. Yet, whomever saves them, it’s just as though they’ve saved all of Humanity.’.”.(Noble Qur’an: Chpt.5, V.32)

Every year, within the United States, alone, 1Million people attempt Suicide…out of that Million 40,000 people actually end up dying from their Suicide attempts…

…this needs to stop, and with the help of Muslims Giving Back, it will, by the permission of Allah. But, we @Muslims Giving Back need the help & support of each and every one of you, to aid us in projects like this, to help the other, which is the individual & collect responsibility of each & every single Muslim.
