The Coming Food Stamp Cut Will Hit 900,000 Veterans

This is your reward, for serving the #UnitedStatesMilitary, the #AmericanWarMachine, with your life…a swift economical kick-in-the-nuts, as soon as you come back home:

The Fifth Column

In addition to the millions of poor families and seniors, our servicemen are affected by the forthcoming food stamp cuts authorized by Congress as well.

Think Progress

Benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), otherwise known as food stamps, will automatically drop come Friday thanks to the loss of additional funds from the 2009 stimulus bill. That cut will hitabout 900,000 of the country’s veterans, according to an analysis by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

“Nationwide, in any given month, a total of 900,000 veterans nationwide lived in households that relied on SNAP to provide food for their families in 2011,” CBPP writes. The number varies state to state, with over 100,000 veterans in households that rely on the benefits in Florida and Texas each.

The coming cut will range from $36 a month for a family of four to $11 a month for…

Cory Booker To Be Sworn In As US Senator

All #Politicians are the same, in my eyes. However, ironically #CoreyBooker is one of the few, among them, whom I actually have any relative respect for:

CBS New York

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) —Cory Booker, who became a rising star in the Democratic Party as mayor of Newark, N.J., is the nation’s newest senator.

Booker, 44, was sworn in as a U.S. senator at noon Thursday. Vice President Joe Biden conducted the ceremony in the Old Senate Chamber. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) held the bible on which Booker took his oath.

The Democrat was surrounded by family, including his mother and brother. His father died Oct. 10.

Booker won a special election Oct. 16 to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Sen. Frank Lautenberg. He’ll serve the remaining 14 months of the term.

The former mayor becomes the second African-American in the Senate. The other is Republican Tim Scott of South Carolina.

“Let’s not forget; my state now has a Latino and a black representing it. I mean, that’s kind of incredible. So New…

Abu Marzouk: Israel prepares to launch a fierce war against Gaza

This, unfortunately, sadly, isn’t (shouldn’t be) a surprise to anyone, whom is even remotely aware/abreast of the happenings in this part of the World:

Occupied Palestine | فلسطين

[ PIC 31/10/2013 – 12:19 PM ]

CAIRO, (PIC)– Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, member of Hamas Political Bureau, stated that the Israelis Escalated incitement and threats against Hamas will not succeed to break the movement’s will and determination.

In a statement published on his Facebook page, Abu Marzouk said that the Israeli occupation has filed a complaint against Hamas with UN Security Council, in addition to bombing the Gaza Strip a few days ago. The U.S. ambassador to “Israel” has visited the tunnel discovered running across Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.

He pointed out to the Israeli escalated raids and arrests against Palestinian journalists, MPs, university students, in addition to the Israeli continued incitement against Hamas in Gaza as a prelude to launch a fierce aggression against the Gaza Strip.

Despite these incitements and threats, Hamas will remain faithful to the blood of martyrs and the resistance option till the…

New Jersey Man Freed After Bite-Mark Evidence Re-Examined

CBS New York

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — A jury said in 1995 that Gerard Richardson was a murderer. DNA evidence suggests otherwise.

The 48-year-old New Jersey man walked out of a federal courthouse Tuesday, a day after a judge threw out his conviction over bite-mark evidence. Richardson, 48, was met by family members and his attorney from the Innocence Project, the organization that got a court-ordered DNA test that showed the bite mark left on the murder victim contained another man’s DNA.

“I’m starting to believe it now. The cold air’s hitting me,” Richardson said as he walked down the steps of the Martin Luther King Jr. federal courthouse after posting $5,000 bail.

“I’m just happy to be home,” he said. “It’s been a long road. This is one step closer to me rebuilding my life.”

Richardson was convicted in 1995 of the murder of 19-year-old Monica Reyes, whose body was found in…

I am the Pursuant-Panther!!!

Jaguar pic

As I swiftly sprint, through my Jungle-Domain, all pause, as though they’re on my Hit-List.
They are in awe of my strength, my Colorful-Coat, my Sharp-Claws, my Paws, Mighty-Fists.

I’m the only one of my Kind, I am the King of the Amazon.
All I have to do is roar and everyone in the Jungle is gone.

But, it’s so lonely, at the Top; it’s like I have no one to share my Beautiful-World with.
It’s like I’m without Family or Friends…it feels like I am always alone: no Kin, & no Kith.

I love to be around Others, to play, not just to hunt and kill.
I just wanna know how it feels to be Part of something Real.

When I am present, Others are deathly afraid.
I’m just anxious to get along, to have it made.

I wish simply to live, and enjoy the Good-Life, with every Jungle-Neighbor.
I want them to know that me being a Jaguar doesn’t define my Behavior.

What I pursue is more than just a Fresh-Kill: I pursue Community.
I desire to be one with my entire Environment: I only seek Unity.

I search for Love & Understanding.
Honestly, is this too demanding?

Lets welcome new Practicing Muslims and Nit Pick!

Neghena Hamidi

Let’s nit pick the new hijabis and beard wearers shall we. One thing we begin to forget as we become more practicing is matching our adab with our appearance. Matching our knowledge with our behavior. Matching our tongue with our heart. And matching our worship to the One and Only to the sincerity we give off to our family and friends.  As soon as we pray five times a day or wear the hijab or grow a beard and throw on that thobe we feel as if it is okay for us to pass judgement on individuals who SEEM less practicing or have entered the religion after some struggle. Unfortunately this is such a negative trend in our Ummah today because it prevents others from reaching their Islamic potential.  My advice to my dear brothers and sisters, stop nit picking the new hijabis, the Muslims who are looking into their…

Let’s have a conversation, about flaggin’ & taggin’.

Let’s talk about reppin’ sects, religious G-Mackin’.

We all wanna belong & be strong, wit a whole team behind us.

We choose between being Muslims, Jews and even Buddhists.

We also pick to conform as Christians, Mormons, Zoroastrians, Hindhus, and the like.

We all want someone to have our backs, to hold us down, to make sure we’re alright.

We use the minds & hearts of people, to write our ideas on.

We do it just make our marks on the World, right or wrong.

But, for every Theological-Tag is a consequence.

We may be guilty, in front of Allah, for nonsense.

We can’t always foresee the damage our taggin’ can actually cause.

If what we tag can’t be removed, it may well cause many to be lost.

So, the next time that you see a wall that you wanna tag, don’t rush to ruin.

There may not be any kind of paint that will erase what you’ve been doin’.
