AG: Students At Trump University Only Got ‘Hard Lesson In Bait-And-Switch’

Standard

CBS New York

ALBANY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) – In response to a $40 million lawsuit filed this weekend, Donald Trump called New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman a “lightweight” and accused Schneiderman of trying to “extort” him.

Filed Saturday, the lawsuit claimed Trump helped run a phony “Trump University” that promised to make students rich but instead steered them into expensive and mostly useless seminars, and even failed to deliver promised apprenticeships.

Schneiderman said many of the 5,000 students who paid up to $35,000 thought they would at least meet Trump but instead all they got was their picture taken in front of a life-size picture of “The Apprentice” TV star.

“More than 5,000 people across the country who paid Donald Trump $40 million to teach them his hard sell tactics got a hard lesson in bait-and-switch,” Schneiderman said in a statement released Sunday. “Mr. Trump used his celebrity status and personally…

The Necessity to adhere to both the Qur’an & the Sunnah/Hadith jointly and indivisibly:

Standard

It truly saddens me, so greatly, that there are Muslims whom dare say that it is not necessary to adhere to the Sunnah/Prophetic-Tradition of Muhammad (Peace be upon him) via Hadith/Ahadith (Prophetic-Statements, actions, allowances, prohibitions, etc. which have been recorded, codified, etc.), using the same “following the Qur’an is just enough” argument. Well, I’d really love to know what you’re actually able to implement, or achieve, Islamically, without the usage of the Sunnah/Hadith, because, the last time that I’ve check, there’s the necessity to adhere to the Sunnah/Hadith, in every single affair of ours, as Muslims, and I can definitely prove it.

Let’s get this convo rockin’ wit some “Fun-Facts”:

1. The word Hadith (pl. Ahadith), according to the Arabic-Language*, means the following:

a. Statement

b. Story

c. Relation

d. Narration

e. Declaration

f. Proclamation

g. Report

h. Message

i. Record/Recording

j. Document/Documentation

*Lisan-il-`Arab/The Language of the Arab: Lexicon of the Arabic-Language

2. The Qur’an, itself, the entire canon of revelation, known as “The Book of Allah” is a Hadith…Allah states, within Surat-il-Kahf/the Chapter of the Cave, “Will you, yourself, grieve over their statements/lies, just because they do not believe in this Hadith?”(Chpt.18, V.6), also within Surat-id-Duha/the Chapter of the Morning, “And, proclaim the Favor of your Lord.”(Chpt.93, V.11)…In both of these verses, respectively, the word “Hadith” is directly used, as well as the verbal conjugative derivative of the verb which the word “Hadith” comes from is also used…the verb that the word “Hadith” comes from is “Haddatha”*, which means “To tell”.

*Lisan-ul-`Arab

3. Both the Qur’an & Hadith/Ahadith were recorded/preserved during the lifetime of Muhammad (Peace be upon him).(al-Bukhari, al-Hakim, Fadha’il-ul-Qur’an, ibn-Hisham, al-Mustadrak) The Companions/Followers of Muhammad (Peace be upon him [May Allah be pleased with them all-together]) whom were able to both read & write, were commissioned, personally, by Muhammad, to document both the Verses of the Primary-Revelation/the Qur’an, as well as the Existential-Revelation/Sunnah, not to be included in the Mushaf/Textual-Document of the Qur’an itself…these persons are known as the following individuals:

a. al-Khulafa’-ur-Rashidun (the 1st Khulafa’/Islamic-Rulers [of the Muslims] after the death of Muhammad [Peace be upon him]):

`Abdullah ibn Abi-Quhafah [Abu-Bakr], `Umar ibn-ul-Khattab, `Uthman ibn-`Affan, `Ali ibn Abi-Talib.

b. al-`Asharat-ul-Mubashshirun (the 10-Companions promised Paradise (by name) during the lifetime of Muhammad [Peace be upon him]):

`Abdullah ibn Abi-Quhafah (Abu-Bakr), `Umar ibn-ul-Khattab, `Uthman ibn-`Affan, `Ali ibn Abi-Talib, `Abd-ur-Rahman ibn-`Awf, Talhah ibn-`Ubaydillah, Sa`d ibn Abi-Waqqas, Sa`id ibn-Zayd, az-Zubayr ibn-al-`Awwam, Abu-`Ubaydah ibn-il-Jarrah.

c. Nisa’-un-Nabi/the Wives of the Prophet:

Khadijah bint-Khuwaylid, Hafsah bint-`Umar (ibn-il-Khattab), `Ai’shah bint Abi-Bakr, etc.

d. Ahl-ul-Bayt/Members of the Prophetic-Household:

`Abdullah ibn-al-`Abbas (ibn-`Abbas),  Khadijah bint-Khuwaylid, Hafsah bint-`Umar (ibn-il-Khattab), `Ai’shah bint Abi-Bakr (ibn Abi-Quahfah), `Abdullah ibn Abi-Quhafah (Abu-Bakr), `Umar ibn-ul-Khattab, `Uthman ibn-`Affan, `Ali ibn Abi-Talib, Sa`d ibn Abi-Waqqas, etc.

e. Other various Companions:

Zayd ibn-Thabit (the Official-Scribe of Muhammad), Ubay ibn-Ka`b, Abdullah, ibn-Mas`ud, etc.

f. There’s even an official-account, by Qatadah (May Allah be pleased with him), whom, personally, asked Anas ibn-Malik whom were the documenters of the Qur’an, during the lifetime of Muhammad & Anas replied, “There were 4 and they were all from among al-Ansar (the 2nd-wave of early followers of Muhammad who helped al-Muhajirin spread Islam throughout the rest of the Arabian-Peninsula, outside of al-Hijaz [the traditional-homeland of the Tribe of Muhammad al-Quraysh, consisting of modern-day Jiddah, Ta’if, al-Makkah, al-Madinah, basically, the entire western-coast of the Arabian-Peninsula]): Ubay ibn-Ka`b, Mu`adh ibn-Jabal, Zayd ibn-Thabit and Abu-Zayd.(al-Bukhari)  al-Muhajirun/the Immigrants, were the 1st-wave of early followers of Muhammad, whom were forced to flee from left al-Makkah, because of strict persecution, by the Pagan-Arabs during the lifetime of Muhammad. al-Ansar gave al-Muhajirin asylum, in their city, (originally) known as Yathrib (later renamed al-Madinah [lit. “The-City”]).(ar-Rahiq-ul-Makhtum/the Sealed-Nectar: Biography of Muhammad)

Now, since we’ve clarified, quite thoroughly, I may add, concerning the legitimacy of the Sunnah/Hadith, then, one has to ask one’s self:

1. How can I be a Muslim, a Muslim whom places his/her trust in the Qur’an, while the Qur’an recorded/preserved, in Humanized written, documented, form, yet I reject the Sunnah/Hadith, and ironically, both the Qur’an & Sunnah were recorded/preserved literarily, literally, by the same exact persons?!!!

2. If I trust those whom Muhammad (Peace be upon him) had trusted, to document/preserve the Qur’an, then, why would/should/do I have any such issue with trusting these same exact individuals, when it comes to the documentation/preservation of the Sunnah/Hadith?!!!

Yeah…I know…really good questions to ask one’s self, right…#ThinkAboutIt

I, personally, would really love to have some actual dialogue with these kinds of people, whom claim to be Muslims, and yet completely doubt/reject the entire validity of the Sunnah/Hadith.

If the U.S. says it’s not a Coup, then I guess it’s not a Coup, huh?!!!

The United States‬ is still not declaring the Coup in Egypt‬ a Coup‬

…Oh, I wonder why?

1. Could it be because of all of the influence that the United States wants to maintain in ‪‎Egypt‬, by supporting the military-fashioned dictators, whom all do the bidding of the United States?

2. Or, maybe it’s because of all the billions of dollars worth of U.S. Foreign-Aid sent to Egypt, on an annual-basis, which compels Egypt to do the bidding of the United States?

3. Then, again, it could be because of all of the allowances of Egypt for the United States to have the infamous CIA Torture-Camps, within Egypt, that have been used by the United States, since the 1950’s?

Yeah…really interesting stuff, right?!!!

To put it very simply:

The United States is truly an amazingly-hypocritical nation…

…America is, literally the only nation, in Human-History, that has official laws about” not negotiating with Terrorists-Groups/Organizations” and “not supporting Military-Coups, when they’ve actually, constantly/consistently, done those same exact 2-things within the past 4-decades alone, while no one within the U.S. gov’t. has yet to acknowledge this: Nicaragua (via the infamous Iran-Contra Affair, which brings us to the “not negotiating with Terrorists” thing, which I’ve written extensively about, in a previous blog-post: http://www.garethbryant.wordpress.com/2011/10/10/ifanwaralawlakiwereolivernorthhedstillbealivechillin), Panama, Grenada, and these are just some of many examples…Ahhh, America…Land of the Corrupt & home of the Hypocrites.

The Political-Impotence of the Muslim-Community & how to cure it!!!

Standard

gareth-bryant-eid-pics-23.jpg

It is getting more obvious, by the time, by the generation, by the day, by the hour, that if the Muslims, within Non-Muslim nations don’t begin to take the reigns of some sort of political-responsibility, where they are, where the reside, where they live, then, at some point, in some way, we will perish. Now, I don’t at all mean that we will be systematically killed. But, I do mean that we will be just another disinfranchised minority, with no political protection, ambition, or vision…In the words of Seet Brown, “Ain’t nobody got time for dat!!!”.

What we most definitely do have time for is to get involved, in any way that wecan, in the political-process, relative to where we are. Don’t get me wrong: I’m as cynical & distrusting of these politicians (even the Muslim ones), as anyone else. However, like a lot of people & things, politicians are necessary-evils, especially in light of the fact that our true divinely-designated political-framework, given by Allah, Creator/Lord of the Universe, known affectionately as al-Khilafah (the Islamic ruling-system, based upon ash-Shari`ah [the socio-political manifestation of the  teachings of the Qur’an & Sunnah/Prophetic-Tradition]), has been non-existent in our world, since the 20th-Century, C.E.

In other words, since the true legislation of Allah is not established anywhere in the World, right now, as we speak, then, we have to use what we have, until/unless we can do better. And fortunately/unfortunately, the status-quo political-system, known as Democracy is the best that we’ve got, right now. Democracy is not at all perfect, for several reasons. Still, aside from that, the Muslim-Communities of Non-Muslim nations may be able to gain some type of political-foothold, which can be very useful, in terms of pursuing agendas which our communities favor.

So, with this being said, “How do the Muslims acquire any type of political-prowess?”, one may ask, which is a very good & important question-There are no 1-word answers as to how to solve the problem within the Muslim-Communities within Non-Muslim countries, that is Political-Impotence. There are, although, steps we ca take, in order to decrease our own political-weaknesses: one of these things is to use which ever political-system which we live under, to manipulate it for all it’s worth, to suit our communal-interest, as best we can; another would be to align ourselves with politicians whom display some type of moral, social, political, integrity & whom are not easily bought, or as easily bought as other politicians.

And, I know, just as much as anyone how this is so much easier to just write about, and a lot harder to actually pull-off. But, when you’re back is against the wall, you’ve got to give it all you’ve got (even if/when you’ve got lil’-to-nothin’ to give). Fortunately, the Muslim-Community is a great source of interest, for any/all politicians, especially those within the political-arena which dominates U.S. policy & politics.

Now, as a result of this fact (and more so because of this fact), ambitious politicians wanna have/host Iftar-Dinners with us, have/host Eid-Celebrations with us, all in the hopes of attaining what means more to them than anything: votes, particularly on Local (City/County, Boro/Borough, Township/Town, etc.) & State levels of government. When it comes to Federal levels of governments, we can all agree that no votes of the Common-People could/would ever determine those issues, or be strong enough to sway the positions these high-powered politicians adhere to, relative to whom supports/controls/influences them financially/politically.

The local-vote is really where it’s at for our Muslim-Communities, because our votes legitimately have more value at these local levels (in these local-elections: like the primaries for example); also, it’s so much easier for the Muslim-Voters to create community-voting-blocs, which ensure that we are united in voting for either one or several politicians & they’ve pledge support of the Muslim-Communities whom vote for them. It’s such a gamble this way, mainly because when power/influence covers you, it almost always stains you & much like money, whenever you’ve got it and/or more of it, it sends a pathological shock, directly to the political/personal ego of any politician & the ol’-sayin’ of how “Money changes you.”, trust me, the same applies in this business of Capitalism…Dog-Eat-Dog World…

…And, after reading this, it’s completely up to you, the reader, as to how you plan to forge some type of political-destiny for our Muslim-Communities.

The Necessity to reflect upon the Past, live in the Present & plan for the Future:

Standard

gareth-bryant-eid-pics-23.jpg

The Past is not to be regretted, but merely remembered.

To remind us of actions gone awry & ambitions deferred.

It is merely something to gives us something to think about.

There’s no need or complain about it, or to stress and pout.

What’s done has been done & you can’t go back to have it reversed.

No need to complain about a performance that was not rehearsed.

We live in the Present: the “Here and Now”.

We must make good upon what we endow.

Our current durations are investments, to benefit us, at later times & places.

We must work, avoiding the same errors as before, stop falling on our faces.

The fruits of our labor may not all be witnessed by our own eyes.

However, still, we must overcome all obstacles, to attain our prize.

Our Future is completely unknown to us; regardless, we welcome it.

Never afraid of what is to come, courage is the primary precedent.

We are confident that we have done all that we should.

But, we would’ve definitely changed things, if we could.

That’s the way things are to go I guess; this is how it is to be.

I only hope to remain blessed & have Allah pleased with me.
